Buzz Your Stress Away in Bohol Bee Farm

Are you craving for a me-time? A temporary escape from a busy life? Or a chance to recharge and pamper yourself?
If your answer is yes, then Bohol Bee Farm might just be the place you need.

Here are the reasons why:

1. It gives you a homey feeling.
Bohol Bee farm has that relaxing ambiance that makes you feel at home. The employees are warm and friendly, and the rooms look like small cottages in the middle of the woods. Because the place is surrounded by various types of plants, which releases excess water from their leaves, the farm has a cool surface temperature even in summer months.

The farm is on a cliffside where a large wooden platform was created to serve as a lounging and sunbathing area; this is the best location if you want to enjoy a panoramic view of the sea.

2. They serve healthy yet delicious meals.
Bohol Bee Farm is a paradise for healthy-eating advocates and veggie lovers. The farm prepares their meals using organically-grown vegetables from their own farm. But meat-eaters don’t have to worry; the farm also serves pork, chicken, and fish. I personally loved their homemade spreads (mango, honey, and malunggay), steamed fish, and spare ribs. The serving size was huge, but I was able to finish my plate (plus the side dishes); the foods tasted that good!

Their organic garden salad is also a must-try; it’s topped with petals of edible flowers. Just make sure not to get carried away and eat any flower you see in Manila or in any other city.

The smell of freshly-baked bread will lead you to the farm’s bake shop. They have different flavor of breads (squash, malunggay, camote, and tarragon) and muffins (chocolate, squash, and carrot). They also sell the spreads used in their restaurant. Buy some and bring them home to your loved ones.

Your Bohol Bee Farm experience wouldn’t be complete without trying their famous ice cream made with natural ingredients and without preservatives, available in malunggay, durian, langka, peanut kisses, spicy ginger, mango, pandan, choco, buko, and ube flavors. It will bring out the kid in you!

3. You can give back to your community by shopping.

Yes, you read it right – shopping can be good, too. Bohol Bee Farm makes their own handicraft, which they use to adorn the guest rooms.

The farm teaches their staff different kinds of livelihood activities and helps them in marketing their products. These items can also be bought in their Souvenir Shop. Additionally, the shop has various delicacies made from natural ingredients which you can bring home as “pasalubong.” By buying more, you can help more people.

4. You can pamper yourself in different ways.
Bohol Bee Farm has a massage area located at the far end of the farm. I tried their Shiatsu massage and I was very well pleased with how the masseuse pressed her palms on my shoulders and on my back – she was hitting the right spots! It’s a perfect way to rejuvenate your tired and aching muscles and give you a good night’s sleep.

Girls can also get their nails done at the farm. Go bury yourself in the soft pillows of their comfy couch, raise your feet, grab a book, and sip a specially-brewed coffee from roasted corn and wild berries. You owe yourself a treat, dear.

5. You can learn something new.
Part of the farm tour is a short lecture on the life of the bees. For me who doesn’t know a lot about bees, I found it really interesting. I learned about the 4 kinds of bees and how they communicate. I felt like a 4-year old asking my parents how clouds are formed with eyes wide open, impatiently waiting for an answer.

I was also given the opportunity to hold a honeycomb full of bees. I held it and pretended not to be nervous for the sake of getting a good picture. I already had a plan in case I accidentally drop the honeycomb – run as fast as I could and jump into the swimming pool!

One of my favorite experiences in the farm is when I was given the opportunity to try their weaving equipment! It was difficult at first. Excellent coordination of the hands and feet is a skill that needs to be mastered in order to produce a good cloth – something that I definitely need to practice.

6. Good location
Bohol Bee Farm is located  in Dauis, Panglao Island, Bohol Philippines, which is approximately 1 hour away from Tagbilaran airport, 25 minutes away from Tagbilaran port, and 15 minutes away from the nearby white sand beaches in Panglao.

I’m sure you’ll find even more reasons to love this place when you get the chance to visit it yourself.
So get out dear, and buzz your stress away in Bohol Bee Farm!
